I went to pick-up my niece from horse-riding lessons one afternoon. As I stood there and waited about 7 rowdy terrier puppies came to say hello. These were obviously ranch puppies covered with fleas and who knows what. I inquired about keeping one and had the frail little guy handed to me. I took about 60 fleas off him, gave him a bath, and then had him dewormed (he had hookworms to boot). “Indy” has been our buddy ever since. We named him Indy after Independence Day. That was the day I knew I met the perfect girl in my fiancée. He speaks (in Dog of course), rolls-over, dances, stands, gives high-fives, gives “Paw.” Outside of the parlor tricks, most of all, he completes our life.

I just wanted to say I have just read your book and cryed it was a lovely story and so pleased you wrote the book and so pleased to have read it!
I know the pain you went through and the joy I have lost three dogs my first at 15 Kim I had the vet to the house to make the same decision as you, my second was only 8 cassie a CKCS and died on my knee on the way to the vet with her heart, my third was just a pup at only two and half well to me she was still a pup called Molly-Bree a CKCS I slept with her on the floor for the last ten days of her life she had ulcerated Colitis the vet had never seen anything so bad she needed to be out every ten mins or so so now way we could sleep in her normal place of my bed as she couldnt make it to the door…but she had such spirit right to the end and i had to make the choice to have her PTS as she had no quality of life and it broke my heart and broke me to loose my little girl so young, but what got me through was her niece who was born the day before i lost her and she now was my angel and the only thing that got me through loosing Molly , she is now asleep at my feet as i type this Callie-Angel my Ruby CKCS……….who is 7 in Feb , i just felt after reading your book about Sprite and Pepsi I had to tell you and this is the only place i found to contact you hope you dont mind.
The best tribute you can make to the friend you lost is to give another dog the chance of a loving home, they all deserve!!
take Care

Hi,
I just finish to read your book…Sprite seems to be in my house now.
Well, just a few words about my dog..a female named Christine.
I used to go often to the dog’s rescue house in Rome, Italy, when i saw two brown eyes fixing me every minutes..was a german shepard female, maybe 2 years old; she had some problems with the back right leg.
I bring her home with an happiness that you can immagine..another German Shepard, male, was waiting for her…
I tried to help her supported by a good veterinary with her leg but one day i found my apartment completley full of blood…she bited her leg and I had to amputeded it. Now, she’ s still with me, she runs, and she unfortunally getting older with the normal problems of her age.
I know I’ll se her die she ‘s 12 at the moment, but I never had such constant love and devotion as she gave to me every day. Dogs are angels to us..humans; we have the duty to threat them well.
thanks for the book you wrote, hoping your dogs are still loving you as all the dogs do to their friends: us.
P.S. Sorry about my not well written english.

Christine is the one near the table, you can see only three legs…

My puppy Ami, a GSD, from the Netherlands, died of epilepticus, due to a brain tumor. He was just 2yrs old. This dog, was so loving and caring, that he watched over our 2yr old son as if he were a parent. When Michael ran off, Ami herded him to sit and then dug a sort of bunker to surround and protect him. Ami slept with Michael at nap time, and followed him everywhere. He was such a love to everyone who visited our house, he played with my students and was just a precious dog. It was a year Fri. since he left us, and my heart still aches for him. Thank you for listening.

I didn’t know he was a dog lover. I have eight dogs as I love in the country and people just dump them. I didn’t want eight dogs but I got em. Everyone is special with training and love. Wish I could find homes for a few but if not, so be it. They’re my love buddies!
