Tasha

I am going through the recent loss of my true four legged pal of almost 14 years, Tasha who was a beautiful shepherd mix. She died on Feb. 25 after only 36 days of attempting to treat her for immune mediated hemolytic anemia.

It happened so fast, she was healthy and normal until a couple weeks after New Years.
Please, hug your dogs more often, and try to give them the best life that you can, because you never know how long they’ve got. I received so much joy over the years sharing my life with her that I actually believe I became a better person by having had her by my side.

I loved Tasha and she was a wonderful companion and I will never ever forget her!

My Girls

These are “My Girls”. The Brown Dog’s Name is “Little Bear” and the Black Dog’s Name is “Lady”. Little Bear is Older by a Year and a Half we think. We Adopted her from PETSMART through F.A.I.R. (An Animal Rescue Organization here in Tucson) Then a Year and a Half or so later we Decided that Little Bear Needed a Friend to play with and get into trouble with. We met “Lady” at a Pet Shop called PETCO while shopping for a new leash for “Little Bear” and ended up needing TWO New Leashes. We Adopted “Lady” through another Rescue Group called B.A.R.K. and we’ve been ONE BIG Happy Family Ever Since!!

Saving Paws

I can honestly say i had never heard of Mark Levin before i bought “Rescuing Sprite”. I had actually never even heard of the book, but i was a member of a book club and had order a couple books that appealed to me. I am an animal lover, dogs and cats. The cover of the book caught by eye and i felt i had to have it. I read the book in less than 24 hours (which is a huge feat for me considering i am employed full time, a wife, mom of 2 young girls, and involved in many other things that always seem to take my time away.

One of those things that is very important to me is a animal rescue that is near to my heart named Saving Paws. The rescue is no-kill and completely volunteer run. The dedication that i have seen amazes me. My family has several animals, always has and always will if i have anything to say about it. I believe animals provide so much love! They are always there for us in our time of need and love us with all they have.

Sprite was so fortunate to be adopted by your family! I, too have done the “would have” could have” should have” when it comes to decisions i have made regarding my pets, but when i made those decisions i was doing what i thought was right and with love in my heart for that animal. Thank you for sharing your story about Sprite.

Ms. Misty

Mark, I put my doggie daughter to rest this past week. A friend and neighbor, and a fan of yours sent me your book about Pepsi and Sprite. I put it away when I received it and continued my guilt about having not done enough to keep Ms. Misty with us, not calling off the vet, and just plain spiraling even further into my depression that I have been in for months. For some reason I decided one night to pick it up and I could not put it down. I sobbed and sobbed as I read your journey and felt exactly the same things you had written. My heart was breaking for you and for me.

Sprite was a blessed dog to have you and your famiily and I believe intentionally entrusted to you by God. Ms. Misty was a neighbors dog from puppyhood to 71/2 when she came to live with me.
I have honored to not only give her the life she more than deserved, even through my pain and grief of only a week without her I know God entrusted her to my care. We are both the beneficiaries of a love and bond that only we can know, a gift so large there are no words to completely explain it. Thank you for writing this book and thank you for loving Sprite and sharing your pain with so many of us. I am awaiting Ms. Mistys return to place her in a spot of honor in our home. In the meantime you have given me some comfort in knowing I am not the only one who has felt this way and I will be okay again.

My Friends Oreo & Tasha

Hey Mark! Mommy found me at the local shelter. She tells everyone she fell in love with me the moment she saw me. I live with her and daddy now and 2 cats named Oreo and Tasha. Mommy says she got them at the place where she found me too. They tell me we are moving soon to a place where I can run around in something called a backyard. I don’t know what that is yet, but it sounds like lots of fun. If it is half as fun as the place we are now I know I will love it.
