I rescued “Teddy” as a kitten in Tucson, AZ in 1997. He was born feral, but took well to me & my other “kids”, Jack and Shalom. We spent 11 wonderful years together — from AZ to CA and KS! Teddy became very ill last July. After many tests, it was determined that he had an incurable case of pemphigas (an autoimune disease).
After a month of steroid treatments, Teddy had resigned his fight. The disease had begun to attack his internal organs. I knew what had to be done, and the memory of that last trip to the vet haunts me still. I did it because I loved him and couldn’t bear to see my little guy in pain any longer. I think he understood. I will remember him forever — and will try very hard to constrain that memory to the joy that came long before the pain.

My Precious Boy
Han passed away 3 weeks ago. He had mast cell tumor disease. He was the most wonderful dog I have ever known. We adopted him from the Humane Society. From the moment he came home, Han knew he belonged with us. Han was 7 years old and he was a Black Labrador Retriever/Newfoundland Mix.
It’s so sad to come home now and not see him at the front door waiting. Or to see Han lying in the hall and wag his tail as we walk by or bend down to pet him. Han was and is the greatest joy I’ve ever known in my life. I believe he is in Heaven waiting for us. I feel his spirit with me and know he knows how much we love him and miss him.

What is more pure and noble than the loving companionship of a dog? My dear Peggy was 15 years old when I had to unexpectedly put her down last Dec. 28th. I am 80 years old. We grew old together. She was family. The question has been asked if dogs go to heaven, Of course they do. Peggy is sitting in the first row, front and center. I miss her and the tears still fall.

I have 4 dogs–a Keeshond, a Jack Russell/Border Collie mix, and 2 of their “accidental” pups. My children have 4 feet! I will send a picture as soon as I can get one! They are the delight of my life, and I love them all very much. I can’t imagine my life without a dog in it!

I miss my Baby Panda, Mark. We put her to sleep on 12/15/08 (13 years & 4 months old). I just can’t stop crying; she was such a beautiful Chow. What’s so terrible is that my 3 cats miss her. I would let all 4 animals out the back door and they would all sit with us around our swing in the back. Our Baby Panda would never hurt the cats; she loved them all.
She is so missed. She had 4 knee surgeries and had many health issues but my husband (her “daddy”) loved her so much that no cost was too high to pay for her wellbeing.
We have had 6 cats so far and 2 dogs (all strays except Panda who was simply not wanted as a little puppy). We were blessed to have her.

I told my wife that if she bought another dog I was going to move into a Marriott. So I decided to name her Mariott. I guess I will keep her and not move…
