And I love him alot
He’s my little ole friend
To the very end
To the very end
My puppy dog Rock
My puppy dog Rock

He’s my puppy dog and I love him w/ all of my heart
He’s my puppy dog and I never want to be apart
From my puppy dog Rock
From my puppy dog Rock
MMM love him alot

He like to run and jump
He was born just a puppy dog Runt
And his tail’s just a little ole stump
My puppy dog Rock

He’s the people’s puppy if you know what I mean
Even barked at the devil on the 911 TV screen
Knew the evil he saw
As I sat in awe
Of my puppy dog Rock
Singing bout my puppy dog Rock

He runs in the woods
Tryin to catch that bunny rabbit if he could
Run puppy dog run
Run Run puppy dog run
Run puppy dog run

He’s the best puppy dog in the whole wide world
So Mr. tell every one you know even your best girl
Bout my puppy dog Rock
Bout my puppy dog Rock

He was a gift from heaven above
You my puppy dog I will always love
My puppy dog Rock
My puppy dog Rock
Now he’s gone and my worlds all torn apart
My sweet puppy dog you’ll forever live in my heart

Bye Bye puppy dog Rock

Tiny

While I’ve had many dogs in my (20 years of) life one of the first dogs in my family was Tiny. She was a terrier a fice I think and she was my dads hunting dog. Most of the stories I’ve heard about her come from my dad. Tiny was a very protective dog. I was told several stories of her fighting snakes (which she despised). My dad told me that she followed a squirrel that he had shot into a hollowed tree stump where she fought it and brought it back up. When a pack of medium sized dogs came to our house to cause trouble Tiny stood her ground and fought them. She was torn up pretty bad the first time and the second time she died. I was 8 then and I cried like a 2 year old. Tiny was a living proof that it wasn’t the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.

Bullet

Mr. Levin I have a wonderful German Shepherd named Bullet. He’s 8 years old now and still thinks he’s a puppy and we’ve owned him since he was 8 weeks old. Bullet is the friendliest and happiest dog in the neighborhood. All the kids know him and when we’re outside when the kids come home from school they run up to him to pet and hug him. And he’s such a ham, he loves the attention. I enjoy your dog stories and your show even more. I just wish that the station here in Reno that carried you gave us two hours and not one

Skipper

Mark – Keep telling it like it is.

My wife and I were building a barn on our property when up waddled a puppy a few weeks old. A common problem in the country is that thoughtless people dump unwanted dogs beside the road and drive away leaving them to get hit by cars or starve to death. My wife claimed she didn’t want to keep the pup, but it was she who went to the store that same day and bought him a bowl and some food. She bought him food and I named him Skipper. For the next 15 years, Skipper, a medium sized brown mutt, was an integral part of our family and a buddy to our four children as they grew up. Skipper finally developed throat cancer at age 15 and we had it surgically removed so we could have him with us a little longer. He gave us an extra six months of affection before we had him mercifully put away and buried at a pet cemetary north of Fort Worth. We were without a dog for several years, but about three months ago my wife and I rescued a two-year-old Cairn terrier named Henry from a local rescue organization. He has already wrapped his big brown eyes and scruffy face around our hearts. He won’t take the place of Skipper, but we can see that he will make his own place in our family. Thanks for your hard work.

My Friend The Stray

Hello Mark.
I live in Holmdel New Jersey and I have had two dogs as pets in my life. I have had a number of other dogs that I have met and cared for over the years that greatly touched my heart and it is one of those stories I wish to share with you.
In September of 2004 I was working as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for a landscaping contractor. While on one construction site I noticed a stray dog. She was very shy around people and would not let anyone near her. I asked one of the workers on the site about the dog and he said she had been in that neighborhood since at least March of 2004. My heart broke for her. March of 2004 in New Jersey was especially cold and snowy, not to mention the rest of the time she was out on her own.

After I was done with work that day I went to McDonald’s and bought her a couple of hamburgers. When I put them out for her she would not come within 50 feet of me to get them. But I was determined to help her and make friends. I fed her for the next 5 months, bringing her cold cuts and fresh water almost every day. I would like to say I didn’t miss a day, but I can’t. That still bothers me now, that due to illness and other circumstances I was not able to feed her for approximately 10 days over a 5 month period.

Busca

My name is Janeen. I am a Police Officer for the Department of Defense. I have been a Search and Rescue K9 Handler for about 15 years. I had the privilege of having a “One in a Life Time” K9 Partner in my life for 12+ years. When I brought home Busca on the first day, I knew he was something special, much less being the most beautiful Australian Shepherd I had ever seen.. He was about 8 week old and a fluff ball. We started training the next day. Busca was the first SAR Dog I trained and will always be the best! It was all fun and games in puppy training and he was the comedian. Even as an adult, Busca had a habit of letting the world know he did good, when he found what we were looking for. Between my loud hooplas for him doing great and his loud barking say “I know”, People could hear us for blocks. Busca was a Mommies Boy. When my now ex-husband stayed at home and Busca could not go with me somewhere, my ex would call him back to the house. Busca would then look at me and kind of say “Do I have to?”.
