Christine

Hi,
I just finish to read your book…Sprite seems to be in my house now.
Well, just a few words about my dog..a female named Christine.
I used to go often to the dog’s rescue house in Rome, Italy, when i saw two brown eyes fixing me every minutes..was a german shepard female, maybe 2 years old; she had some problems with the back right leg.
I bring her home with an happiness that you can immagine..another German Shepard, male, was waiting for her…
I tried to help her supported by a good veterinary with her leg but one day i found my apartment completley full of blood…she bited her leg and I had to amputeded it. Now, she’ s still with me, she runs, and she unfortunally getting older with the normal problems of her age.
I know I’ll se her die she ‘s 12 at the moment, but I never had such constant love and devotion as she gave to me every day. Dogs are angels to us..humans; we have the duty to threat them well.
thanks for the book you wrote, hoping your dogs are still loving you as all the dogs do to their friends: us.
P.S. Sorry about my not well written english.

Ami

My puppy Ami, a GSD, from the Netherlands, died of epilepticus, due to a brain tumor. He was just 2yrs old. This dog, was so loving and caring, that he watched over our 2yr old son as if he were a parent. When Michael ran off, Ami herded him to sit and then dug a sort of bunker to surround and protect him. Ami slept with Michael at nap time, and followed him everywhere. He was such a love to everyone who visited our house, he played with my students and was just a precious dog. It was a year Fri. since he left us, and my heart still aches for him. Thank you for listening.

Eight Country Dogs

I didn’t know he was a dog lover. I have eight dogs as I love in the country and people just dump them. I didn’t want eight dogs but I got em. Everyone is special with training and love. Wish I could find homes for a few but if not, so be it. They’re my love buddies!

Dumpling

My baby Dumpling was put to sleep today. He was such a sweet little bunny who loved life until his bunny friend, Lincoln was stolen from my yard last September. He never recovered from his loss and grew very sick. I know that all animals go back Home to God, but it is still very hard. God bless you Dumpling, and thank you for being here for us.

Pepper

Your heartfelt book, RESCUING SPRITE, encapsulates so well the genuine, descent, man of honest character you are, Mark.

I was right there with you when Sprite had to be put down as I too lived through all the gut-wrenching pain when I had to put down our beloved dog, Pepper, of 17 years.

That sad time was back in 1988, but there still is not a day that goes by when I do not still ache in my heart for her joy and companionship. Her ashes are in a container on the fireplace.

Of course, I still regret for having kept her alive longer than she deserved, and in retrospect it was a selfish gesture; but I could not part with this dear friend who was more like a child having raised her since she was 8 weeks old.

I have never been able to take in another dog, but I do volunteer as a dog walker at our local animal shelter.

I’m not a cat person, but I have taken in numerous stray cats in our neighborhood to give them a loving home where they can feel safe and live out their lives. At one time we had 7 in total.

Thank you for your book, Mark.
