I have always loved aimals of all kinds.I have 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 ducks, 2 turtles, a Senegal parrot, finches, 3 fishtanks and a guinea pig. All of my dogs are adoptions, a Min Pin from a child abuse/puppy mill case, my loveable Pit Bull was a Katrina victim. my older Min Pin was a throw away, and my newest shep. mix from a shelter. Two of my cats were adopted and one found us.

Whisker, Zoe, Harley, Jr., Jackie, Shelby, Ginger

Good morning, Mark!!  I am a \”dog lover\” deluxe!!  I now have 5 dogs that I chose & 1 stray that has been with us for about 3-months & is a sweetheart!!   My husband & I bought our first dog, a schnoodle (half schnauzer & half poodle) in 1974 right after we got married.  Whisker lived to be 18-years old!!  Ever since then, we have had at least 2 dogs and most times 4 to 5.  They all get to come into the house, sleep in our beds and love us to pieces.  We now have 3 full-size dobermans (Zoe-red & tan @ 68 lbs. & 4-years old, Harley, Jr.-black & tax @ 132 lbs.—a real sweetie— & 2-1/2 years old, & our little Jackie @ 88 lbs. & 1-1/2 years old).   We also have a long-haired miniature dachshund-Sadie & a 13-year old Min-Pin-Shelby.
The stray, who my husband named Ginger, got a healthy report from the vet & he guessed that she is 1/2 Rottweiller & 1/2 Blue Heeler @ 66 lbs.  She shakes hands, lays down & sits on command.  She sat on the side of the road for 2-days (my husband said) in the exact same spot.  We think maybe she fell out of her owner\’s pickup truck or they just \”dumped\” her, but I cannot imagine that since she obviously has had much human contact.  She loves kids, gets along with our 3-outside cats & is just a great dog!!   I just had to share my story with you & have 2-copies of the Rescuing Sprite book that I share with my friends & family.   Thank you for caring so much for our country and for our beloved pets!!    God Bless!!

Fudgie

8 yrs ago I went to brookhaven Animal shelter for a dog for my dad and i found the love of my life Fudgie. I am a veterinarian technician for 18 years and have never come across such a wonderful dog. She has brought me such happiness and joy.

The day I found her was her last day there before she was to be euthanised. I hope more people go to shelters instead of pet stores after they hear this story.

Xero

This is my best buddy, Xero.  I adopted him after he had yet another fight with his younger Neo-Mastiff brother.  The problem with Jack Russells is they are not scared of anything! it almost cost him his life but I\’m am forever grateful that he now lives with me.  He is my best friend and the smartest dog I\’ve ever met. It is hard to imagine life without this little bundle of energy.  Thank you Mark for everything you do for America.

Lucky

Our family had Lucky, a Samoyed, for almost 18 years. He was, as the original owner put it, a poor example of the breed and had no papers. We took him anyway and he became one of the most loving members of our family. His favorite winter game was stealing hats off the sleigh-riders and having them chase him. We replaced lots of hats and didn’t mind a bit.

Lucky enriched us more than words would tell and God bless all of the dog lovers out there. These dogs only ask to be part of our lives and, in return, give us everything they have without reservation!
