Listener Stories

Harley

A short and sweet love story Mr. Levin. Harley came into my life this last year. the bond that was there the instant our eyes met was nothing I had ever experienced. He was a scroungy, giardia infested boy that nobody wanted, and just look at him after a few months of love. I have had numerous canine companions in my life, but none come close to Harley. My wife calls him my velcro-dog, as he is alway with me. He sleeps either on my pillow above my head or near my ear. His neverending love without conditions inspires me to try and give a little of that back to the world. Thank you for Sprite, and for all you are doing to help us keep the America we have grown up to love and respect

Crystal

Thanks Mark for all you do.I am a truck driver and I travel all over the country with my 5 year old golden retriever mix named Crystal.I like to joke that crystal has pooped in 44 states.Crystal showed up on my door step as a puppy and after locating her owner who didnt want her I decided to keep her and it has been the best decision I have ever made.I listen to your show religiously and enjoy your passion for this great country that I also share. As a member of the Army during Operation Desert Storm I am very disturbed with the current direction of the country and I am deeply saddened with the blind stupidity of the left and their burning desire to destroy this country.Such mindless and morally bankrupt people really sicken me I guess thats why I love animals so much. Thanks again for all you do and God Bless you and your family.

Sir

A dog lover’s song by America’s Dan Peek from their Hideaway album (produced by Sir George Martin). “Today’s the Day” is a beautiful song the tears me up every time I hear it. It is a love song sung by the dog (in Dan Peek’s voice) to his master. It fits my daughter’s dog perfectly. We got him when he was 1 yr old. He’s now 15 yrs old. He would run to the door wagging his tail when my Daugher would come home from school. Living rural KS, the school bus still goes by and each time this wonderful dog runs to the door longingly wagging his tail. But my daughter has graduated College, married and moved to SD to teach English Lit. But to this day “Sir” (his name) still feels “Today’s the Day” that his favorite girl in the world will get off that yellow bus thingy….because she turns “night time into day and is the star that lights his way” and he’s got this feeling that today is the day! [tearing up writing this]. What a beauritful dog lover’s song.

Bell & Saint Mere Eglise

Bell & Saint Mere Eglise are German Shorthaired Pointers. They live a good life.

Saint Mere is named after the town in France taken by the 82nd Airborne Division on D-Day (6 June 1944).

Bell is named after Bell Helicopter Inc. The kids like to say she’s named after some Disney character, but she’s named after the Bell Cobra or Bell OH-58D (Kiowa Warrior)
