In Iraq , there were many wild dogs. We were protecting a Special Forces base named Aggies, as well as doing patrols, although I NEVER saw a Special Forces person. I was only regular Infantry. We adopted a litter of 5 puppies we found in Mosul . We brought them back to Aggies. Our Commander ordered us to kill all but one because we weren’t there to raise kittens. There were some soldiers who injected them with bleach to kill them for some reason. I did nothing to stop this even thought I was older than most. When that didn’t work, they set them on fire. One of them survived even that. I CANT GET THIS OUT OF MY MIND. Other people died in my 2 tours. I don’t know why I am telling you this, but I need closure. I’m sorry for telling you this, but I feel I must tell someone and I respect you very much.
