I volunteer at a no kill shelter and usually the smaller vintage dogs get adopted quickly so I don’t feel guilty by not taking them home. Last week, an adopter changed his mind and I got a nice 14 yr old Jack Russel/sheltie mix. He gets along with my two vintage doxies and all the 27 cats. He has arthritis, but loves to chase a tennis ball. Most of the brown hair on his face has turned white and the black is still there, but when I first saw him, I thought of Sprite. I told the staff that if he doesn’t get picked up that day because of second thoughts, he would be mine. I don’t regret taking him.
